I keep being asked "how do I get involved with what you're recording and putting out on your podcast ?". Well the simple answer is you have to be brave enough to stand in front of a field recorder in the bowels of The Moscone and talk to me. I'm recording all day today and Wednesday and there are still slots free.

Remember I AM a journalist so you have to treat me as such when we talk, this stuff goes public fast so think about what you're going to say and enjoy the ride.

Usual caveats apply. This podcast is meant for entertainment purposes only. Your mileage may vary. Do not try this at home. Void where prohibited. Some assembly required. Do not use while operating a motor vehicle, heavy equipment or when configuring an OpenStack architecture. Podcasts may be too intense for some listeners and children under 30 years of age. Please remain seated until the podcast has come to a complete stop. Studies have shown regular exposure to these podcasts causes increased weight gain. I am not a professional, I have no training, I'm not even particularly good at horse whispering. Don't believe everything that you know. Please keep your hands in the vehicle at all times. Do not tap on glass. Do not eat anything that has been on the floor for more than 3 days. Keep your hands to yourself. Not to be taken internally etc etc.

I recorded and released a show with the legend that is Josh Bressers from Red Hat and that recording is out now, click below to listen or goto iTunes, Player.FM or Stitcher (links in story below).

Live from RSA Conference 2016

This week I am in San Francisco recording a special radio show for TheStack.com and Red Hat called "Locked Down" I will be talking to the brightest and the best at RSA, expect to see a variety of shows going live over the week, discussing everything about the growing technologies, emerging products and the challenges that we are facing in security.

How do I get the show ?

If you have an iOS device simply subscribe via the Apple Podcast client on iOS available from the Apple store (or via Overcast or your podcast client of choice), simply search for "Locked Down" once installed. Stitcher Internet Radio App also is carrying the show.  SoundCloud is also carrying the stream.

If you have an Android device install Player.FM or BeyondPod and again search on "Locked Down" and subscribe. Stitcher Internet Radio App just like Player.FM and BeyondPod carries the show - all installable from the Google Play store. You can also listen in via SoundCloud.

If you are in a browser you can listen to all the shows as they appear using Player.FM directly by bookmarking and clicking http://bit.ly/1KWVVaB directly via your desktop, or via Stitcher http://stitcher.com/s?fid=84147&refid=stpr in Safari, Firefox or on any Mac or Windows browser. Stitcher doesn't always play well with Chrome, if you're a Chrome browser user click the Player FM link.

You can listen to episode 1 here in this post or visit SoundCloud's stream

So it's the festive season that has crept up on us already. Seasons Greetings folks !

Now an apology

The last five months for me have been a blur. I've been locked away writing a new portal thats launching at Red Hat in the New Year as well as working hard on the ever growing Cloud portfolio at Red Hat.

The blog has suffered because I've been more or less writing for a living and not having a single moment to myself to concentrate on getting new editorial out there. Also with the new Red Hat Cloud blog going live so soon I wasn't sure as to whether I'd kill this and just concentrate on stuff. However its now obvious that with everything I commercially write having to go past a team of fedora wearing legal eagles that to drop this conduit to the public would be stupid. Here I can post pretty much whatever I decide to within reason as I own the domain and the service.

So some new stuff thats coming up. In the New Year we launch a new portal - HombresInHats.com which is live now with a holding page and that will be featuring a cadre of some of the best talent at Red Hat, John Mark Walker, Thomas Cameron, James Kirkland, Jon Masters, Bill Bauman, Jon Benedict, Dave Neary, Rhys Oxenham, I'll be writing and broadcasting from there too. We could and should have gone live this quarter but if you hadn't noticed Red Hat had a HUGE quarter just published, continuing our steady and reliable market growth. With Cloud and non RHEL revenues now growing double digits year on year you can understand why we haven't had time to record stuff in our own spare time.

Also, I am relaunching The CloudEvangelist Radio Show thats sat dormant since June 12th. I've recorded two shows already and I'm doing a third between now and New Year with two special guests. Expect that content to go out over Christmas vacation period now I have downtime to concentrate. It will be available on Stitcher, Podfeed, iTunes and all the usual locations so watch for the launch post with links to those locations and the NEW RSS feed. The old RSS feed is dead dead dead - please delete it and add the new location when I announce it.

Other stuff. I am in talks to write a book with a legal eagle here in the UK aimed at the CIO talking about cloud law, intellectual property, cloud security and basic stuff to keep folk out of jail.

FOSDEM comes up 30th January in Belgium. I will be attending with the Red Hat crew so if you're coming out come appear on the radio show I will be recording for a fourth successive year.

So for now, from the family here at Red Hat, my family here in the South West of the UK, I raise a glass to your good health, thanks for staying the distance and look out for the radio stuff I release in the next few days.

Earlier this year I parked the Cloud Evangelist podcast after almost 100 shows in its own right and another 28 at Red Hat Summits in 2013 and 2014. It was never my decision to close it down and as it was independently owned, produced, funded and mastered/syndicated it wasn't a call I was remotely happy with but accepted. The 12th of June saw the last show before I parked the series.

Well the news today is that I've been officially greenlit to restart the show and I will be working out how thats going to happen in the next week or two. Right now I am on a family vacation with my wife and kids and enjoying downtime avoiding the melee and noise of OpenStack Summit in Paris out of choice.

My role at Red Hat has changed now to be across all Red Hat technologies as well as Cloud (with a focus on Open Hybrid Cloud still) and therefore I can now properly highlight the achievements and concentrating on all parts of our stack, customer engagements, industry partners, security and emerging new projects that people want to hear about.

WHEN I have worked out what that editorial agenda looks like and agreed it upstream with the talented folk in our team I will start producing new shows.

Where can I find it ?

The show has a new RSS since June where you can find ALL the old parked shows. The Stitcher feed will remain the same. I will provide connectivity details when new content goes live at launch time. More news to follow as I have it.
